We cannot grow spiritually without receptivity, but presently most of us do not understand receptivity in its entirety. As it often happens now, there are moments of being receptive to a higher impression, but then the impression is immediately taken over by the sensation of the impression, so that our minds instantly turn a moment of receptivity into a moment of "my" experience.
Rushing through life lends the one who habitually hurries the feeling of being "important"; but loans such as these come at the high cost of always having to justify one's unkindness -- as when one has to convince himself that his impatience with others is a necessary evil along the way to that "greater good" towards which he ever runs.
What could be more natural than letting go? Think about it. If half of our life is spent meeting moments that are natural endings, then what are we to do with these things in our lives that can no longer serve us in a meaningful way? The answer? We must let them go! To do anything else would be unnatural, even unhealthy for us.
An Advanced Lesson in Letting Go: Each and every seemingly impossible place in your life is but a reflection in the mirror that reveals the level of self standing there before it.
Topics covered: The only pain you have is that you don't know that you see life through a set of eyes that although they can't see any differently than they do, you suffer for their poor vision. The pain is always in the nature of the see-er; You live in a world the size of the one that you see, and you don't know what else to look for; You have to see how absolutely useless it is for you to habitually suffer over the things you do...

Topics covered: The thinker can't escape its own thought. It is impossible. And yet we spend most of our lives trying to do just that; Two people arguing with each other each believe that they know what reality is. But there cannot be two different realities. There is only one reality; There are I's that are trained in the art of combat, and there are I's that are trained in the art of compromise. Each I is seamlessly handed off to another I. "If the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."

Guy Finly explains in this short talk that, if we want to be lifted above ourselves, we must see that we cannot reconcile any psychological disturbance that moves through us with the same level of mind that created the disturbance in the first place.
Real life is not limited to what was; it is always new because it's the expression of a compassionate and living intelligence that actively shapes whatever it touches.
Do you know people who, when things are going well for them, but things are going bad for you, will tell you: "Let go and let God"? Doesn't it drive you crazy? They got a check that day or they lost a few pounds, or it's a good hair day, or whatever it is, and they say, "Let go and let God." And of course, if they could see, you want to throttle them at that moment for their insensitivity...
If you would like to begin in earnest the good work of letting go of dark, self-punishing states, start here: Never give to another person a slice of any mental or emotional state of yours that you have not taken the time to first taste for yourself.
