There is probably no greater treasure than authentic higher self-knowledge but the reason that so few seek it, let alone make the kind of sacrifice needed to succeed in their quest...is because its realization leads one, inexorably, first to the shores...and then to the endless, open waters of uncharted seas.
Student Talks: 8/2/2024 - Key Lesson: Only in a sustained conscious awareness of our (own) suffering are we awakened to see, and to know, accordingly, the healing presence of a Divine Light: a living, loving intelligence that reveals and conceives -- all at once -- the possibility of perfect compassion.
Student Talks: 6/30/2023 - Key Lesson: Part 1: Enlightenment is instantaneous, but keeping the lights on is another story altogether! Part 2: Intention is the front runner of a race yet to be run, a new order of will yet to be tested, but waiting to be realized.
Student Talks: 7/2/2021 - Key Lesson: Contemplation is sustained attention on a question the heart holds in its keeping, knowing, full well, that the mind -- of itself -- cannot answer. This form of sustained conscious inquiry is the ground of true meditation: it is creation aware of itself.
Student Talks: 7/9/2021 - Key Lesson: Our greatest gift -- the heart and soul of our Divine possibility -- may be summarized as follows: not only are we created to give ourselves to what we love, but that we are able to discern -- consciously -- the difference between one order of Love that sacrifices itself for the sake of something Greater than itself, and another kind of love... that lives only to give itself what it imagines makes it great.
Student Talks: 03/13/2026 - The fact that we can be aware of – a witness to the experience of our own reactions proves, undeniably, the existence of a higher order of being that is not bound by them, let alone to the subsequent actions they tell us we must take.
Student Talks: 8/9/2024 - Key Lesson: Every shocking revelation we are given to see, and to realize (if we will) as true about our present nature is -- at its heart -- an unseen act of mercy; it is the herald of an order of higher understanding unimaginable to the human mind.
Student Talks: 11/08/2024 - Key Lesson: Persistence – without our awareness of the parts of us that steadily insist there’s no further we can go – is a recipe for frustration; this painful sense of self slowly morphs from simple despair into an unholy cynicism that, in turn, serves to confirm what we see as our own unwanted, but unavoidable conclusion: we’ve no other choice but to give up our wish to transcend whatever limitation we’d been called to outgrow.
We are not meant to keep our eye on some "tomorrow" from which we blindly borrow the false pleasure of what "might be." Such dreams serve nothing save the sleeping self, an imagined sense of "self" that always realizes, too late, that its "hope in things seen" is the same as tomorrow's sorrow.
Student Talks: 10/24/2025 - Calling on anxious thoughts to check the rising tide of some fearful feeling is like trying to stop a landslide by throwing rocks at it!
Student Talks: 10/15/2021 - Key Lesson: Time is a wrinkle in the mind: and much as the silent reflection of a cloud-filled sky can't be seen upon the wind-tossed waters of a mountain lake, neither can the reflection of Heaven be seen in a mind churning with thought.
Student Talks: 4/16/2021 - Key Lesson: All unconscious negative reactions -- with others, events, or with ourselves -- deflect this one crucial revelation: as long as we meet life with any compulsive demand or unseen craving, we can't help but be painfully remanded into the hands of one self-punishing reaction after another...
