In this video, Guy Finley talks about how true interior freedom dawns as we begin to observe the mechanical behavior of negative states as they try to tell us who we are and what is possible for us in the moment.
Just as there's truth in the old adage that a watched pot never boils... so it's true that the mind attentive to itself will never set itself on fire!...
In this short talk, Guy Finley talks about how we are intended to discover that who we really are, our true self, is a multi-colored palette of extraordinary possibilities.
Student Talks: 03/20/2026 -
Part 1: I can't speak to you of life without speaking to you of death; not the death we fear, but the fear we have of it. For to live in fear is to die in slow motion.
Part 2: Our principle fear is not what any moment may or may not bring, rather what we really fear in any unwanted moment is our reaction to it.

Remastered Classic Talk: 9/21/16 - What good is the love of Truth without standing up for the freedom it promises to those whom love it? This means that we must attend to, embrace, and then enact what is Light, Right, and True, even in the midst of all that may seem wrong within or around us. Only by daring to bring this intention into the midst of any such dark moment are we given to see -- first hand -- how His unfailing strength is made perfect in whatever may be our weakness.
Topics covered: In spite of all of the knowledge gained, in the unwanted moment, a part of us still tries to find ways to escape from the condition. But you cannot run from your own shadow. The shadow is the illusion of a self apart from the Divine; The "un-power" that opens the door to perfect freedom is the understanding that there is really one power; The Yin-Yang symbol depicts "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." The white empties itself into the black, and the black empties itself into the white. For instance: Life and death, that seem to be opposites, are not opposites at all. Life and death are one movement.
Classroom Talk: 8/9/2002 - Whenever we are angry or upset with others for their unkindness towards us, the hardest thing to see in such moments is that the person we are about to punish is already in more pain than he or she can bear... and that this ache in their soul is the secret driving force behind their thoughtlessness. To see this suffering of the one before us, before we increase it, is how we learn to consciously bear our own.
Guy Finley explains that there truly is a wave of love that alone has the capacity to wash away everything that causes you to be sad and angry. But you must be in its waters, and allow that love to do what only it can do.
