When all is well with us, we open ourselves up to the words of the wise, welcoming their counsel; but whenever some painful trial comes knocking at our door -- bringing with it the possibility of real-time wisdom that nothing else can provide -- we slam shut the door of our heart and mind, wanting no words with it!...

Whenever we collide with any event, and then run away from the scene of the crash, we lose the opportunity to discover that the only collisions we have in life are with what we have yet to understand about ourselves.

The living now is a timeless Presence; it is neither the outcome of the past, nor a door to some imagined future; passing time is just one of the ways in which that which is always present appears, but this apparent movement of time no more defines or confines Real Life than the rising and setting of the sun changes the nature of light.

When we think about any painful event, be it three minutes or thirty years old, we look at nothing more than a shadow of what once was -- something that is no more! The catch here is that these same thoughts -- these shadows of experiences gone by -- seem to have a life of their own, and in a way they do, for each carries with it a full complementary set of emotional baggage -- the still-smold...
