Classroom Talk: 8/24/2003 - Trying to escape the painful effects of spiritual ignorance is like hoping to lose your shadow by running away from the sun.

Your present consciousness thinks in terms of getting things done so that it can be "over" and you can move on to the next thing. But real life is never done the way that nature wants you to believe. Real life is always being done, and you have a role in it, which is to attend to life while it's happening so that you can be purified by it.

What we put first in our lives is what we receive from life. The treasure of our heart both measures and determines our wealth, or our inner poverty. But not everything we love in life loves us back...
