Feeling sorry for yourself is not an action...anymore than reliving some old regret has the power to change your present nature. Struggle with yourself; reaching takes disturbing the one who rests; yet, as surely as a seedling breaks out of her earthly tomb, so will you realize the world above you...once you commit to do the interior work needed to attain it.

When it comes to true success in this life -- regardless of whatever world it is in which we strive for excellence -- there is no greater ability than to be able to do what we don't want to do, when we don't want to do it, and, in all cases, to do it well.

When we realize that the world around us is powerless to grant our wish for a sense of real permanency, our attention naturally turns toward that uncharted country within us where, as our eyes accustom themselves to the light therein, we catch a glimpse of our Eternal Home.

It is given to us to choose in which of the infinite worlds we will dwell, and there is no greater gift, nor power, granted to any creature under the sun. To not know one's choice, or worse, to have abdicated this right, is to turn your life over to forces that oppose the possibility of rebirth.

Before we can have and hold a happiness beyond the reach of conflict or sorrow, we must first understand what it means to be in touch with the whole of ourselves; for only when we are reunited with all that we may be does it become possible for us to know a new kind of Contentment that cannot be darkened or diminished.

"Worry and Hurry" are evil twins who prey on unwary souls by means of their unseen partnership. As "Worry" paints a negative mental image that promises the worst to come, "Hurry" whispers of the urgency in this emergency -- the emotional effect of which is to send us rushing to repair a problem that probably doesn't even exist!

Stressful worry helps no one -- not those we are concerned about, and certainly not us. Such worry heals nothing; instead, it hurts all who mistake its dark embrace as a path to empowerment. The only thing worry serves is to strengthen the grip of our fearful expectations and, in so doing, holds us captive in a bad dream of our own making.

There are those who will tell you why it is wise to never forget the pain of the past but if you look closely at the anger, sorrow, and bitterness that has hardened their faces, then you will also see why learning to forgive is the better of the two paths.

No relationship in life can be any more successful than what we are willing to learn about ourselves through it. The moment we turn our back on what others give us to see about ourselves, we not only walk away from what we need to see, but also from the better person we could be...were we only willing to learn the lesson at hand.
