The fear of -- and unconscious resistance to seeing the depth and breadth of one's own weakness -- is not the same as realizing one's actual state of (spiritual) helplessness in that same moment.

When living within the limits of what is known is also seen as being the limitation of your spiritual possibilities, then there is no recourse other than to depart the safety of all that you have been... in favor of discovering all you are yet to be.
