If we ever hope to know the nature of true spiritual peace, we must do the best we can to meet each moment -- as fully as possible -- from the whole of ourselves, and then witness the results... in silence. And, whether or not we hit the mark -- still strive to be patient and kind to others, as well as with ourselves. Nothing more, nothing less; keep it simple. So that, unlikely as it may seem - in this way we are awakened to a great paradox...
There is one essential reason why there is so much constant heartache and war on this earth, and why conflict has continued as it has down through the ages. The answer may surprise you. We do not understand the nature of our own pain -- our suffering. Billions of us live with almost no understanding of how much hurt lies hidden in our hearts and minds; in this case, ignorance is not bliss.

Classroom Talk: 1/1/2003 - Spiritually speaking, the cost of starting over is not what we pay to achieve some distant desire, but it is in our willingness to let go of -- to dare to live without -- any desire we may have whose promise of fulfillment drives us to search for it in yet another tomorrow.
What could be more natural than letting go? Think about it. If half of our life is spent meeting moments that are natural endings, then what are we to do with these things in our lives that can no longer serve us in a meaningful way? The answer? We must let them go! To do anything else would be unnatural, even unhealthy for us.
