Only in our conscious awareness of a personal limitation -- through our ability to sense the presence of any indwelling negative, or otherwise self-denigrating thought or feeling -- is realized the strength we need to die to an unconscious nature that, otherwise... lives to ensure that we accept its dark and limited view of life as our own.

We can realize all we are meant to see -- and to be, accordingly -- only as we allow self-awareness to serve its highest purpose in life. Which is to do what? To reveal what is yet realized about (our) consciousness, that it might be reconciled and re-integrated, reborn, as part of a greater whole.
Learning what it means to take a deliberate step back from our reactions to life is the same as learning to walk past those parts of us that want us to believe our only choices in that moment are those presented to us from the content of these reactions.
There is no such thing as a "bad day"...only our inability to see the Good in it.
