We resist not what we see as being fearful, but rather what fear sees whenever we look at our life through its eyes. And the reason this fearful nature trembles, as it does, resisting its own dark vision, is so that it can feel unsuited to meet the very situation that it has imagined.

Spiritually speaking, the cost of starting over is not what we pay to achieve some distant desire, but it is in our willingness to let go of -- to dare to live without -- any desire we may have whose promise of fulfillment drives us to search for it in yet another tomorrow.
