Unattended thoughts are thieves; not only do they sneak in and steal your attention in exchange for the thrilling, but fleeting sensations they provide, but then they turn around and sell you "insurance:" more thoughts promising to protect you from the inevitable sense of loss that always comes with having identified with an illusion.
Your understanding of -- and therefore your relationship to -- passing time depends upon living in Presence, the conscious act of remembering (the whole of) yourself. Practicing this Presence is an active relationship... a dynamic partnership between attention and awareness that once married serve to reveal a Timeless world already present within an equally Timeless you.
Higher Life lessons that reveal and help us realize our True Self are not the effect of passing events; rather, life's events serve these teachings of the timeless kind. This proves that these lessons are, in fact, eternal in nature, and that they exist before any moment calls them to our attention!

Classroom Talk: 6/5/2024 - Every step along the path (of life) is the first -- and the last -- for anyone who chooses to walk in the silent light of higher self-understanding.
Here's the real spiritual reason you should do only one thing at a time
The spiritual body that alone can stand the buffeting of all unconscious opposing forces -- that ultimately learns to use them for its own development -- is further perfected each time we struggle, as needed, to remember this one celestial fact: nothing in this world (or the next) has the right -- or the power -- to turn our own attention against us.
Rather than look outside of ourselves for familiar ways to escape old heartaches, let us turn our attention around... and choose, instead, to become aware of a (lower) level of consciousness that secretly enables the continuation of (our) suffering. In this new action, and the Light of revelation it creates, awaits the Truth that sets us free.
Where is tomorrow's fear other than in today's troubled imagination? And, if this is true, and IT IS... Then, what to do with our attention now? Let it be swallowed up in the dark shadow of what “may be”... Or, hold it in the Light of higher awareness where no shadow can dwell, let alone its fear?
Never agree that you are powerless in the face of dark and unwanted moments, because instead of mindlessly aching you can always reclaim your attention and remember this truth: The Light of God is greater than any shadows come over you so, instead of hating the darkness, look for this Light and watch how your life grows brighter.
