It may seem otherwise, but there is no separation between the revelation of any given moment, and the consciousness in and through which that revelation is (made) known.
The real reason why our heroes in life often turn out to be "zeros"... is because our "number" was up in the same moment that we went looking for strength anywhere outside of our True Self.
Trying to change our exterior relationship to life without having first allowed it to reveal what needs to be changed within us... is like trying to change our reflection in a mirror because we see something in it we don't like.
The only real problem we have with any unwanted moment in life -- regardless how stressed, or conflicted may seem its temporary character... is that we have yet to see our unconscious involvement in its creation, and subsequent appearance.
Trying to assign blame to the stress between you and the one with whom you are in a struggle... is like trying to judge which side of the rope in a tug-of-war is to be blamed for the tension (in it).
Even our most difficult moments in life soon prove themselves to be the seed of a new, and higher level of being... but only when -- and as -- we're willing to receive whatever these same moments have come to show us about our present level of consciousness.

More often than not, aspirants fail to see the following truth that -- only as realized -- sets the stage for a new and unimaginable spiritual order of freedom: spiritual facts, left to themselves -- regardless how elevated or sublime -- morph into an unseen psychological trap: a literal web of soul-entangling concepts that, when not consciously acted on...
Our impatience with others does not prove that we are better than they; what it does show, however, is the depth and breadth of how unaware and identified we are with some flattering, but false image living somewhere in the dark of us. This imagined self must constantly struggle to keep its imagined superiority, which it accomplishes in its rush to judge others as being inferior to itself.
