No other can do what God asks of you alone. This knowledge is the seed of a confidence that has no past; it leads to a self-reliance without painful self-reference. The flowering of this understanding is freedom.
Any mental or emotional crisis in our life is evidence of an "account past due." Understood properly, such pain reveals where we are holding on to parts of ourselves that cost us more to maintain than they are worth.
Yours is the power to put the fear of the future behind you, but only as you are willing to see that unless you do the interior work to awaken now...your past awaits you just ahead.
Any form of suffering or conflict that tells us to look into the past for its "cause" -- or to the future, in the hope of some imagined freedom to come -- isn’t just useless, it’s wasted.
Don't wish for freedom; choose it. Start by challenging the false notion that negativities are true powers. Deliberately walk past any dark state whose painful presence -- left uncontested -- makes you a prisoner of its domain.
What is the nature of what we call the past -- its make-up and our experience of it, individually and collectively -- other than the sum of all our choices up until this moment in time...
Topics covered: You do not really understand something until you understand it with all parts of yourself. The intellect alone can only go so far, and can in fact hinder understanding; The New Testament story of Christ being tempted is the story of yourself. It is a teaching story that is your story; The last thing that we want to know is that we have no power of our own, and that all power belongs to, and comes from, what is higher than ourselves.
Nothing in the universe can make you relive some painful moment from your past as long as you choose to live from the higher understanding that no old dark thought has the power to define you, let alone drag you down.
Getting stressed and struggling to change the outcome of any past event is like arguing with an echo to make it see your point of view!

Classroom Talk: 4/29/2020 - Part 1: Knowledge without spirit is like finding yourself on a cold night with all the wood in the world and not a flame with which to light it. Part 2: Many are the false beliefs that create real pain. For instance, the belief that we can change what happened yesterday by reliving it today is like trying to chase down an echo...
Reliving a past pain in the belief that revisiting it will keep you from going through that same suffering again is like throwing money out the window of a moving car so that you won't spend it foolishly later!...
