Psychologically speaking, what is true requires no protection, and never becomes negative when challenged. On the other hand, what is false almost never stops trying to protect itself, which it does by finding fault with whatever or whoever challenges the false image behind which it always hides.

Life is change; it is creation revealing itself. We can either realize our existence within its movement as a designated part of its divine design, or we can continue to struggle with unwanted moments in the false belief that our pain proves we know how the story of life is supposed to unfold.

Imagination, and the daydreams that it creates, act as a kind of consolation; it seems to compensate for the empty, fearful, and conflict filled world in which we live today; but, in truth, this level of imagination is the cause of our common sorrow... And therefore can never be a part of its solution.

Although it may not always seem true... there is no 'dark side' to any image-shattering truth that we agree to see about ourselves; it is only our present inability to comprehend how this stage of (interior) illumination sets the stage for revelation... that makes us want to hide from its light.

Exercise: Listen for what starts talking to you when you feel the contraction of pain and then say, 'Oh no you don't!' See that the pain is trying to show you what you've been living under, and then work to have a new relationship with the pain. Your willingness to bring the pain out of concealment and into the light places it under divine government.

In all true spiritual work there is a time to be active and a time to be passive. In order to receive, you must first give.

Our greatest gift -- our single highest possibility -- is that not only have we the capacity to give ourselves to what we love, but that we are able to discern the difference between the order of Love that gives itself up for the sake of a greater need, and the kind of love that gives only to itself... In order to make itself seem greater.

There is only one path that leads to a relationship with what is holy, and therefore perfectly complete... And that is to see -- without flinching, and finally without regret -- that all of the (seemingly attractive) paths through this life always end right where they began: in a too-familiar, but terrible, sense of emptiness.

Part 1: A real wish rises out of the ashes of expectations realized and found wanting. A false wish is a temporary flame that -- no matter how many times answered -- never quells the fire that gives it birth. Part 2: The difficulty of remembering the Truth of oneself is inseparable from those parts of oneself that much prefers remembering something more to their liking!...

Part 1: The great universal misperception that secretly drives human conflict -- with all of its sorrow and pain -- is that the meaning of life is found somewhere outside of one's own heart and mind. Part 2: Only you can choose the nature of what grows, or what doesn't, within you.

Part 1: Awareness is the womb of order; this is why, in the end, it is always the Light of stillness -- and the silence that it births -- that alone has the power to make things right, to set them straight. Part 2: In the silence of perfect stillness creation pays homage to the Light that gives it birth.

The first act of higher love must come in the form of personal sacrifice; (it is) made through our agreement to bear into the light of ourselves those bitter, angry, unconscious and ungrateful parts of us that would rather fight with revelation than allow it to help set us free.
