Real Life is a miracle revealing itself. The eyes that can see this truth are those no longer blinded by (all) the empty promises inherent in the illusion of passing time; to see things as they are... is to be what you are; to be what you are, without wanting to become anything more or less... is enlightenment.
Never run from what feels like any empty moment. If you will wait in it, watch it unfold, you'll soon see it reveal its secret fullness... much in the same way as the dark of a new moon becomes, in time, a moon full of light as it catches and reflects the light of the sun.
Seeking the approval of others -- in the hope of measuring the worth of ourselves -- makes as much sense as looking for our reflection in a falling drop of rain, with the main difference being this: A raindrop actually lasts longer than does that fleeting sense of self we win for having sold our soul for another empty smile.
We are never punished by life itself, but only by our life choices. This timeless Truth helps to explain how the wise can dwell in the exact same world as do the willfully ignorant, but instead of seeing it as a dark, empty, and often painful place, find it to be full of Light and rich with Promise.
Just as a river is renewed -- each moment -- by the creeks and brooks that flow into it, so is our soul intended to be renewed by streams of Light, and all that they serve to reveal; of course... this assumes one thing: that we are empty enough -- each moment -- to receive this ceaseless flow of celestial impressions as they pour themselves into us.
The Unknowable Source of Peace in real life far exceeds our reach... because it can’t be grasped, let alone taken by hand; it can only be received by a heart that has willingly emptied itself of hope in all things seen...
No part of our present level of consciousness can be fully transcended without having completely experienced its nature; and this includes temptation, whatever its character. The “saint” is not someone who has never been tempted, but rather the one who -- having come to know its nature so fully -- can no longer be deceived by any of its empty promises... or veiled threats.
