No unwanted moment exists greater than our right to walk past the dark, or otherwise fearful parts of us responsible for that painful perception... as long as we're willing to meet, face to face, the lower level of self that fears change, and then work to use its fear to die to it.
There is nothing in the past over which to suffer, and no impulse to do so without first having been tempted and then deceived into revisiting, and then resisting the pain of some old memory...
The past sits in constant judgment of the Presence moment; first comparing, then imprisoning it to the inevitable corruption inherent in the constant replay of one's own memory: (this is) a completely unconscious nature... that not only already "knows" how things should be, but that summarily resists any challenges to its carefully crafted reality.
To remember that the reaction of another is not our responsibility frees us not only from the futile action of trying to repair moments past, but also sets in motion the possibility of freeing that person from his mistaken idea that something outside of him is to be blamed for his unwanted experience of life.
