The more unwanted moments you're willing to walk into, the fewer unwanted moments will you have to go through.

Freedom is not created, which means it cannot be destroyed any more than the onset of night destroys the light of the sun; and we are never "nearer" this true freedom than when we remember the truth of this fact in the middle of some fear.

The better we understand the following correlation, the sooner we'll recognize and be willing to walk the upward path that leads to the end of unconscious suffering: the more negative we become over any unwanted condition, the less we understand about ourselves and, accordingly, our unseen role in the very condition we so eagerly resist.

It is impossible to let go of any painful thought or troubling feeling until we see the parts of us that are secretly clinging to it.

Psychological suffering is born of an unseen, “mechanical” resistance to life; it is the dark offspring of an unconscious nature that believes its painful experience of any unwanted moment is somehow separate and apart from the way it sees and reacts to it, accordingly.

It is from out of one's unconscious fear of death that comes the frustration, pain, and inevitable sense of regret born of trying to steal a feeling of being alive.

Whatever we do to encourage others, encourages us as well because -- in truth -- there is no separate self. The more we understand this, not only are we willing to extend a helping hand, whatever that may be... but we're also much less likely to judge another because... we've seen that we are the other.
