The reason perfect love casts out fear is because any unwanted condition willingly embraced loses its power over us. No one is a captive of what is agreed to, nor does he wish for a time to come when he will be free. Only when we are no longer driven to imagine a freedom apart from what the moment holds for us, will we find that we are free now.

Guy explains that everything that is created wants to live and will fight to exist, including fear and negativity. If you ever want to have a spiritual healing, you need to understand these types of forces that will do everything they can to ensure their own continuation, and essentially prevent a human being from ever finding freedom.

What we must learn to see -- whenever we start racing around to resolve some problem that we can't stop thinking about -- is that the faster our mind wants us to run after the freedom it imagines eludes it, the more of a captive we become -- held fast in the web of our own conceptual confusion.

We are only as locked out of the Kingdom of Heaven as we are locked into our many mistaken ideas about it... beginning with the false belief that we already know the true nature of (its) freedom, including what's required of us if we ever hope to win it.

Once we realize that whatever we will bring into our awareness has always been an aspect of our own consciousness, only not yet awakened to, we also understand this liberating truth: nothing exists outside of us. All destinations are already within us, including the Love we are searching for and the unconditional freedom that It alone has the power to grant.

Classroom Talk: 3/25/2022 - Spiritual liberation is not an attainment; real freedom is not an achievement, let alone the by-product of belief. (It is) a grace-granted realization that we are not who we've mistaken ourselves to be: the limited experience of a temporal body that's been given a temporary place in this world of passing time.
