Unconscious resistance is a mounting suffering born of refusing to see the following: the only way to change what is -- unseen for the most part -- a string of unwanted life experiences... is to die to the level of self that lives to not want what it keeps creating for itself.
Any action we may take that's created by resistance within us to something unwanted in our life ensures only the continuation of a nature so asleep to itself that it can't see the difference between always trying to escape a prison, and not entering into one in the first place.
Classroom Talk: 5/21/2004 - We spend so much of our time thinking and re-thinking about how to succeed with our personal escape plans that -- for these same dreams of a freedom to come -- it never has a chance to dawn on us that our True Nature cannot be made a prisoner of anything!
The clearer we can see that the only thing assaulting us in any given unwanted moment is our own negative reaction to that event, the nearer we are to being released from this self-created conflict.
No one wins freedom who hasn't first realized the invisible relationship between resistance and revelation, and how one cannot appear without the other; wherein to see that they secretly serve one another, is to put both in your service...

Topics covered: So much of the pain that we have in life is not because of what life present to us. The pain is in our ambition to prove that we are what we have imagined ourselves to be; Real life is a process of discovery. Real discovery is not the enlargement of oneself. Rather, it is the realization that real life is immeasurable; We have a perpetual internal scoreboard that is always measuring how we are doing in the moment. It doesn't want to come out of the moment thinking that it has lost. It wants other people to know that they have lost. It is a set of eyes that measures life instead of meeting it.
Topics covered: In spite of all of the knowledge gained, in the unwanted moment, a part of us still tries to find ways to escape from the condition. But you cannot run from your own shadow. The shadow is the illusion of a self apart from the Divine; The "un-power" that opens the door to perfect freedom is the understanding that there is really one power; The Yin-Yang symbol depicts "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." The white empties itself into the black, and the black empties itself into the white. For instance: Life and death, that seem to be opposites, are not opposites at all. Life and death are one movement.
The reconciliation of opposing forces can only be realized through the unification of desire, which is its transfiguration.
Painful tension is unconscious chronic resistance (to life). This means our suffering isn’t created by any difficult condition unfolding outside of us; rather it’s a dark effect of identifying with an unconscious self that believes the only way to deal with unwanted moments is by not wanting them!
