There is no straight line because there is always a creative force is acting upon the new creation. The force of creation, nor the creation that it is acting upon, are ever the same; The negative states that seem to come out of nowhere will tell you the reasons for their appearance, which always includes some form of "I'm innocent, you're guilty." Negative reactions will tell you why you are the way you are.
Life is change; it is creation revealing itself. We can either realize our existence within its movement as a designated part of its Divine design, or can continue to struggle with unwanted moments in the false belief that our resistance to any unexpected turn in life proves we already know the right way back home.
Painful tension is nothing more than unconscious chronic resistance (to life). This means one's suffering isn't the evil spawn of some dark condition unfolding outside of oneself, but rather (it's) the unhappy effect of identifying with a deeply divided mind that believes the best way to deal with unwanted moments is... by not wanting them!...
Student Talks: 05/23/2025 - There is no circumstance in our life -- immediate, or seemingly inescapable -- that isn't perfectly suited to help us change the way we see, understand, and ultimately transcend not just the troubled, or otherwise painful moments in our life, but the dark nature (within us) responsible for their reappearance.
We rarely see when we take the path of least resistance in life - that low road called "guaranteed to go nowhere" - because of how immediately we identify with the legion of thoughts and feelings that always appear in that same moment of our suffering to justify the "choices" we make to escape it.
