One of the secret ways our lower nature is able to hide, so successfully, its innate weakness -- let alone finds a way to go on living with its inability to transcend it -- is by judging, or otherwise repeatedly condemning itself for doing, repeatedly, the very thing it keeps "saying" that it doesn't want to do again.
