There never seems enough time to make full reparations for the wrong we do to another in a moment of careless speech, so wouldn't it be wise to take time -- before we speak -- to ensure that whatever we're about to say holds no harm in it.

Since you would never willingly allow someone else to denigrate your name -- or otherwise call you something ugly -- then why do you accept within you the painful presence of some dark unseen character that likes to do the same?...

What difference does it make what direction we run to escape a pain when the only thing that really troubles us in unwanted moments is our negative reaction (to it).

Measure the degree of your impatience with people (and unwanted moments) -- that you instantly resist -- and you know the extent to which you've forgotten who you really are... And the true purpose of your life.

Generally speaking, the only kind of 'thanks' you can expect from others who see that you've decided to serve something higher than your own self-centered interests -- including bringing an end to your previous support of their inflated self-images -- is their accusation that somehow you have done them wrong.

Into each of our lives comes some fight that must be made; however, the key to true self-victory is not that we 'win' at all costs, but rather that we always choose in favor of the Light that ensures we remain true, kind, and innocent in spite of the cost.

Nothing serves better -- or more sharply -- to awaken one to some unseen demand buried in the dark of one's mind, than does the sudden appearance of an unexpected, unwanted condition that emerges to challenge it.

Who you really are can't be "interrupted" by a thought, or some dark emotional state, anymore than a passing rain cloud disturbs the open sky through which it passes.

Nothing makes us more common, more alike all that we judge, than unconsciously identifying with those thoughts and feelings that tell us we're somehow different, better than all that we see.

Only consistent, persistent effort can create the special conditions needed by those who seek the higher Life to shatter the illusion of (their) limited spiritual possibilities.

It isn't fame or fortune, not even the greatest of worldly love that determines our true worth in life, let alone our value to the world in which we live. Everything depends upon what we love above all else. Whoever has the love of Truth in his or her heart... has everything.

Real Life will... and must keep challenging our understanding of it, because real Life is ceaselessly renewing itself; only by learning to be as one with its changes can we hope to understand -- and agree -- to play our part in a Divine plan that never stops starting over.
