There is a distinct field of higher energies that appear in each moment of what we call a "disturbance" in life... moments when (our) resistance reaches a peak. It is only in the presence of these celestial forces that transfiguration becomes possible, for by choosing to remain in their supernal Light... we see who and what we can no longer be....
We can't change others -- or the purpose of any given moment as it unfolds; but we can work to place one less demand upon both. Only in this action can we hope to find the freedom for which we seek, because the only thing that imprisons us -- in the end -- is our resistance to whatever runs against our deeply seated demands.
Any sense of "delay" in life is nothing other than resistance to the interval that appears between a pleasure spent and the next one imagined. Once this is understood, it's also clear that no pleasure "to come" is created by the mind that doesn't come pre-loaded with some kind of pain over what's taking it so long to arrive.
Spiritually speaking, absolutely nothing stands in our way except what we do not yet know about ourselves. This means that we do not have to look anywhere else. The other side of this idea that nothing stands in our way is that there are many parts of us that don't want us to know about them at all. These parts have absolutely no interest in anything revelatory taking place. It is impossible...
We may reach the place to which we rush, but our consent to act from any anxious state ensures we remain the slave of those thoughts and feelings that push us and pull us at the same time.
The purpose of true spiritual study is to begin a very slow and steady process by which the human mind that is willing to be educated is brought into the presence of new understanding. This new understanding is not something that you can give to yourself, but it must start with certain ideas that are intended to come between you and your present suffering. Presently our suffering feeds on itse...
The only thing that we suffer from at any moment is what we have yet to understand about ourselves. We suffer the way we presently do because we live in a small world, and our actions and decisions are based solely on the context of the information available in that world. We think we are always right because we act according to the limited thoughts and feelings that are given to us in this sm...
Real enthusiasm is expressed in us each time we encounter what we have never encountered before. And in that encounter, we have actually uncovered something within ourselves that we have never seen before. Most of us today live our lives on the sidelines...just looking at things. We don't really experiment with our lives anymore. But the truth is that every moment of your life holds the poss...
As long as we resist, we can’t see. As long as we can’t see, we can’t explore. As long as we can’t explore, we can’t discover...
It's widely believed that psychological pain is a natural response to encountering an unwanted moment, but the true –and secret – source of this pain is an unseen conflict inherent in our present level of consciousness itself; the truth is that the "self" that suffers this pain is revealed by unwanted conditions – not created by them.
