To realize the power of living in the "Presence moment" requires entering into its flow; the nature of these living waters is a timeless intelligence that knows, regardless of how things appear... that everything is exactly as it must be in that moment, even as it carries within it the seed of a creation destined, at the outset, to become something further perfected.
If we must dream, let us long for that life beyond ourselves; for who desires things already known, or otherwise imagined, in forms reconfigured from fantasies too well worn? Behold! It is the unknown life that calls to us from a desire untold -- too distant and dark to be seen, but nearer to us than the very light in which we dwell.
Any sense of "delay" in life is nothing other than resistance to the interval that appears between a pleasure spent and the next one imagined. Once this is understood, it's also clear that no pleasure "to come" is created by the mind that doesn't come pre-loaded with some kind of pain over what's taking it so long to arrive.
In many ways, the true blessings of life often come disguised as the worst moments... but those who will patiently bear the presence of that emptiness -- of what seems a loss, or painful limitation of some kind -- will soon see its temporary mask fall away, and witness there -- in its place -- the appearance of an impossibly kind and loving face.
You cannot protect yourself from psychological pain or disappointment and hope to court the Divine at the same time; the narrow entrance into the heart of heaven is a movement; (it is) an unknowable accord found only where revelation and letting go converge and merge, and from their union give birth to a new order of being that is one with all that is changeless.
Freedom from regret, hate, anxiety, and rage -- and making useless excuses for being compromised by these negative states -- begins as we stand in the light of this rescuing realization: unwanted moments, whatever their nature, do not cause the pain we find in them; rather, they serve to reveal a level of our consciousness already in pain, and looking for something to blame for it.
What else can dark states do when met with the light of one's wish to see them for what they are... other than try to appear darker and bigger each time they are seen. In the end, the only power that any dark mechanical state has is to bluff and hope that it's able to "rope a dope" using its special effects.
Suffering over unwanted moments does not mean the world is against you, or that it has suddenly turned upside down. Your pain appears, as it does, for one reason, and one reason only: it is trying to tell you that your priorities in life are out of order... which means they need a dramatic re-evaluation leading to a new, truer arrangement.
I want to rest in the deep of myself... suspended there with no effort; content to be touched by timeless currents whose unseen hands gently rock the soul. Alone... but so alone nothing wishes otherwise; for this stillness is perfect consolation, and in it does all healing start. I am where no one knows, and this is my safety, my strength. In this solitude I am myself.
What can't be accomplished by someone willing to suffer for what he or she loves, especially given the fact that -- in this world, or the next -- love always prevails. On the other hand, examine the lives of those who know only to resist their suffering; the power that prevails therein... is pain: a dark power that progressively blots out the Light, turning life into a dreary prison of imp...
Starting out, the aspirant believes his struggle is just to awaken himself. But, as he awakens, the aspirant sees an increasing need to serve others in their wish to be free. Finally, the aspirant realizes that his struggle was never just for himself, or for those he met along the way, but to take part in the awakening of human consciousness itself: to help in the liberation of all human being...
The beauty of Great Nature is found in her infinite unique forms; her splendor reflects and reveals a ceaseless process of creation born of the timeless marriage of opposites. On the other hand, the ugliness -- the violence that can erupt in our human nature -- is first the presence, and then the pressure of a dark and twisted character; this pain is the unnatural fruit of our mangled misund...
