When all is said and done... there is only one true freedom: it's called holiness. But we must not fail to note this evocative word is not the same as actually being whole any more than -- in and of itself -- the name "sugar" is... sweet!
The sooner we see the secret relationship between how certain we are over what we think we know, and the extent of our suffering over the same, the sooner we will realize the true liberation that comes only with winning freedom from the known.
Here is a great spiritual paradox, but the first step towards real interior freedom begins with seeing its profound truth: there is only one thing that binds us to any given unwanted moment, and that is...how much we don't want to be in it!...
When one hates or resists his own limitations and, in doing so, becomes identified with them, he cannot see that his unconscious agreement with these negative states is itself a part of the limiting forces conspiring to confine the freedom of his Native Consciousness.
Whatever storms you are given to face on your long journey back home, work to remember this truth... and be assured the day will dawn when you will know the unconditional freedom you seek: Your struggle is with yourself, and yourself only.
Spiritual freedom will never be realized by avoiding what disturbs us, but rather by the work of consciously illuminating what still dwells in the dark of us... that is (always) so quick to find someone, or something to blame for its pain.
Ponder the following insight for a few precious moments, and you may catch a glimpse of a formerly unimaginable freedom. But ponder this one truth long enough to realize the implication of its implied non-action... and you will realize a new level of self- knowledge that is the key to self-liberation:
By Grace we've all been granted a relative Forever; a share in a living “Time” in which to either find a freedom and permanent fulfillment that only Love can provide...
When we know -- deeply realize -- that what we're really looking for in this life is what we already are -- and not what we may become -- we stand on the threshold of a new order of being that is effortlessly fearless, fulfilled, and free.
Part 1 The avoidance of any form of psychological pain -- no matter how cleverly construed, or thoroughly masked -- is not the same as freedom from its suffering. Part 2 Nothing is more empty of higher possibilities than a mind filled with resistance to the revelations of life.
Here is one of the great spiritual mysteries of all time. Freedom is either found within one's suffering or not at all; the only thing one escapes who runs from his or her pain is the possibility of discovering its purpose and how to transcend it.
