When living within the limits of what is known is also seen as being the limitation of your spiritual possibilities, then there is no recourse other than to depart the safety of all that you have been…
I feel that the key to my elusive happiness is in finally figuring out what the purpose of life is... I keep looking at what the world offers, but find nothing really lasting!...
Just as a great composition awaits the composer who can "hear" it, and then capture its essence on paper -- bringing into this world what is, by its nature, the celestial "sounds" of a higher kingdom -- so does what is Divine await the soul that agrees to be the instrument of its will... on earth.
Until we see that our negative reaction toward those we judge for their mechanical, often unthinking action is equally automated -- equally predictable -- we remain little more than a machine that believes it's different from another machine because of the keen eye with which we judge it.
Conscious Love is the Divine interior act of intentionally suffering the pain and sorrow of those we meet along the Way; it must include our willingness to consciously sacrifice any part of us that wants to avoid, or otherwise look away from this suffering... simply because it makes us momentarily aware of our own.
Painful tension is nothing more than unconscious chronic resistance (to life). This means one's suffering isn't the evil spawn of some dark condition unfolding outside of oneself, but rather (it's) the unhappy effect of identifying with a deeply divided mind that believes the best way to deal with unwanted moments is... by not wanting them!...
Calling on "what was" to deal with "what is"... is like being stranded on a deserted island, without any food, and hoping to make your growing hunger pains go away by reading and re-reading "Best Places to Dine Around Town"... the one magazine that washed up with you when you staggered onto shore.
Part 1 Your true nature is fearless because it lives for one reason only: to be the unflagging instrument -- moment-to-moment -- of whatever Love asks it to be. Part 2 The outcome of any relationship in life is inseparable from the level of awareness of the one entering into that relationship.
The divided mind looks for difference; it ceaselessly judges all that it sees in order to confirm its false (and fearful) perception that it's separate and apart from life. But the awakening mind... sees within itself a living symmetry between all things above and below, and knows this similarity to be the framework of Love.
Part 1 The limitation of thought is that it can know, but never be. Being is the heart of reality itself, while thinking only creates the illusion of being real. Part 2 There's an invisible web of being that exists as an unceasing communication, the perfect communion of life and light that is fulfillment itself.
We can either fight for our spiritual right to awaken to the world within us where passing time and its troubles are without negative influence over us, or we can quit on ourselves and become whatever the world makes of those who make nothing of their spiritual possibilities.
We cannot hide from what we fear to go through in life any more than a child who, hiding under his bed covers at night, can outrun the boogey man that reaches out for him in the dark of his own fearful imagination.
