Until we awaken enough to see that within us lives the same nature as our "enemy" of the moment, we will never know the freedom or the forgiveness found in this great liberating truth: no enemy exists for us until the judge within us makes one so.
Our need to change, to be made new, is constant; however, so is our resistance to change. The former is inseparable from the freedom it heralds, while the latter ensures the continuation of patterns...
Classroom Talk: 1/21/2005 - How strange it is that we resent carrying on our backs the pointed opinion of others, when it is we who give this barbed thought its power to trouble us. Think not? Then let us ask: what possible suffering can there be in what another thinks of me, unless I am holding the same thought as he?

Part 1: Your possibilities in life for spiritual growth are as unlimited as is your willingness to consciously meet your limitations.
Part 2: Resisting the revelation of any one of your present limitations... is like resenting the ocean because you never learned how to swim!
When our love of the Truth begins to outweigh the fear in us of what we realize is True about us, it's not so much that we have found the path to freedom as it is that we have begun to realize that our own True Nature in God is already free.
Real Success in life is not determined by measuring up to some pre-set social standard of accomplishment, but is found through the individual effort it takes to go beyond what blocks our way in the moment. Such a deliberate effort in the face of our own doubts and fears always proves these negative states powerless . . . which is the same as discovering within ourselves the power to be free.
We need never accept the presence of anything in us that wants us to ache over who we are -- or are not -- for it is given to us to outgrow ourselves anytime that we awaken enough to see the need for it. And when is there a better time to let go of who we have been than when it is trying to pull us down!...
Learn to love what seems more beautiful than yourself, celebrate the gifts of others that outshine your own, practice the patience you have yet to win; giving ourselves to a greater Self is not just the path to freedom, but the only way to perfect our own highest possibilities.

Time and tide is always changing, which means no impassible condition exists apart from where we are unconsciously clinging to what has been...and mistake it for what is.
