Remastered Classic Talk: 8/26/15 - The real thing that's unwanted in any moment is not the event we blame for our pain. The actual source of (our) suffering is in having identified with a negative reaction, and then mechanically resisting this unconscious state now rooted in the darkness of our mind. In other words: resistance is the source of (our) pain, and not the event we blame for it. Once we see our complicity in the creation of these troubled thoughts and feelings... it's not that they go away, but rather that in dropping our identification with them, it is we who are now empowered to depart from their dark world.
Before we can ever learn to love one another as we would hope to do, we must first be willing to see that for too long we have loved only ourselves . . . and that even this has been done poorly.

I believe in God but I feel so detached from him -- I don't know spiritual love. I have no feelings for him one way or the other. Can you please tell me what it takes to come to truly love God? I would appreciate any insights you have that may enlighten me. (Student correspondence, 10/31/06)...

I love the truth but, truth be told, I struggle every day of my life to remember it in moments I really need to! Though I don't like the thought, lately I'm beginning to think that maybe my relationship with Truth/Light is more imagined than real, but I'm in the dark about this! Any comments? I was wondering if you could share with us how you got started in creating the Life of Learning Foundation? I have thought about starting something similar, and would appreciate your advice.
Welcome the following list of 25 largely invisible, and therefore mostly unrealized actions of love. Please note, as part of your study, the contrast between what Love IS... and what Love never does because its Divine nature is incapable of contradicting itself...
Classroom Talk: 9/8/2002 - What makes someone a master is not that he or she possesses some unattainable skill, but that these individuals have first realized the existence of, and then made contact with, a world above them that wants to pour its more perfected understanding into their own.
