Any thought that "promises" to rescue you, or to otherwise deliver you to some new delight deceives you twice. First, that it has the power to lift you above what's dragging you down; and secondly, more significantly, that there is a "you" that needs being saved from some dire straight, or that can be actually be enlarged by changing circumstance.

Guy Finley talks about how we have a nature within us that is constantly in motion, but yet never actually goes anywhere because all it can do is move from one incomplete idea to another.

What is real spiritual strength? It is knowing that we need never compromise ourselves in any way -- with anyone, or over anything -- in order to be at peace...

We can imagine, and then wish for what we hope will make us whole -- fearless and free -- but real wholeness, spiritual freedom is unimaginable, as is the inner path that leads us to realize that innate Divine estate.

The ability to see what's right, bright, and true, and then to act upon your understanding accordingly -- in spite of the fact that nothing in you feels like it wants to -- is the beginning of real spiritual will.

Our true spiritual task is not to try and make things "better," but to do the actual interior work of making things brighter by consciously bringing any darkness we encounter (within ourselves) into the light of self-awareness.

There is no Real spiritual strength won that is not the fruit of having fallen at least once in an all out struggle with some weakness of ours that we could no longer stand having stand over us!...

The true spiritual key to finding forgiveness in your heart for another is in awakening to your need to be forgiven for having been seduced into becoming someone who believes there is a valid reason for hating anyone!...

Every living thing is searching for something to fulfill itself. Raindrops rush down to slake the thirst of a parched earth, even as water-laden clouds are drawn high into the skies so they can pour themselves out. Streams seek out rivers that rush down to merge with the sea. It's really quite clear: the great circle of life is imbued with a unique kind of "gravity."

Resisting any moment that reveals a present limitation is the same as pushing away the lesson we need to illuminate our new possibilities.
