When all is said and done, perfect order and true self-knowledge are inseparable; each reflecting the other in much the same way as is the timeless beauty of a dark red rose revealed through the eyes of its lover.

Here is perhaps the greatest of all spiritual mysteries: The reason so many fail in their effort to find and enter into the Kingdom of Heaven is because its gates cannot be opened by anyone standing outside of them. Those who stand the nearest to God...

The Character of Goodness, of compassion and kindness that we would like to reflect and express before our friends (and enemies), requires that we place its life before our own. And yet, when we agree to this interior action of self-sacrifice, not only is our life returned to us, but we find that it has been made greater than it was -- even though we had to first surrender it to something seen...

Since what troubles us, troubles us now -- then now is when we must awaken to and address within ourselves whatever it is that makes us ache. To delay this interior work is to lose sight of the doorway that our own disturbed state opens for us and beckons us to enter.

The more lost in thought you become, the less likely you'll be able to find your way back Home.

Real freedom isn't subject to how others estimate our value; it is in realizing that none are free who find their sense of worth wondering how others measure their lives.

Some things must be seen as true before they can awaken within us a new and higher will... that sets us free.

Know thy tendency. Struggle to be. Remember the "I" that can see. Refuse the temptation to identify with resistance; it belongs to a lower level of self that can never be free.

Just because we are able to freely justify, idealize, or otherwise deny the "in the dark" parts of us that frighten, torment, or otherwise bully us... does not mean that we are free.
