Classroom Talk: 5/31/2002 - As long as we willingly jump on board that dark train of thoughts and feelings called our discontentment, desperately trying to reach the end of the line where we hope happiness awaits us we will never discover that all such discontentment is a lie and that its desire to find fulfillment outside of one’s own heart is a part of that lie.
It is no stretch of the imagination to say that many days most people wrestle with some form of discontentment about their lot in life. Add to this an equal if not greater amount of time spent searching for the solution they think will "cure" this confliction, and it might surprise us how pervasive runs this human pastime of trying to dodge these feelings of being discontent...
The more we believe, as we are inclined to do, that there exists something outside of us with the power to make us happy and whole, the more attached we become to these imposter ideas and those deceptive desires that weave into our hearts.
Our daily dose of unhappiness isn't due to a lack of choices over what is needed for us to be happy and free, but this discontentment is the creation of an unseen nature within us whose only life is born of creating and considering choices that never quite satisfy its needs.
Classroom Talk: 10/18/2002 - If we will do the right thing, in the right moment for the right reasons, there is no other possible outcome than for us to know Rightness. Such Rightness is its own reward; it is free of conflict because it is whole, and being whole it never seeks confirmation, which means it is fearless. These facts reveal that the path to True Happiness is not an up-hill road to be struggled over each day, but is a place found within our own heart...
