The purpose of this life is to prepare you for the next one to come only this truer, newer order of being is not found in time, but in consciousness awakened to itself.

Show me someone who isn't working to improve whatever it may be that he or she is doing -- every time they do it -- and I will show you a person who is missing the very purpose of being alive.

There is nothing higher, better, or brighter for us to do with our lives than to use every moment for the purpose of attending to what Truth would have us learn about ourselves.

Little by little, the purpose of life for men and women has become directed to one thing: I want to get to the point in my life where there are no more disturbances. The purpose of this life is not to avoid disturbance, or to find a disturbance-free existence! If you examine this, you can see the fact of it for yourself. Are you getting more relaxed in life when it comes to people and problems?

The conditioning that consumes most of us is that we have failed in life if we don't make something of ourselves. The Truth is that we are here on earth for the purpose of allowing God's Life to make of us what It would have us be. Real success is knowing the difference between these two wills and choosing rightly.

Until we learn the one Great Lesson that what we want from life must play a secondary role to what Life asks of us -- which is to grow in the timeless qualities of selflessness such as self-sacrifice, kindness, and love -- then we will remain unable to share in the abiding sense of peace and freedom that comes to us only as we realize the true purpose of our being.

When we understand that our true purpose in life is to grow in the Wisdom of God's Plan, and that this Wisdom we seek itself seeks us to help it unfold in Goodness, then we also realize that whatever disappointments we encounter along the Way must themselves be a part of Wisdom's Eternal Plan.
