Guy’s interviews, talks, and an ebook reveal what relationships are really all about, where they go wrong, and how to make the inner changes that maximize the good of all our relationships.
Think about all the finish lines you've managed to cross in your lifetime where you thought you were an uncontested winner. Let's name a few: "They said I was great!" "She said she loved me!" "I made the deal!" "At last I own what I've always wanted!" "The crisis is over at last." "I beat the odds!" "Now I know I'm a good and wise person." The great and enticing mystery in our moments of arriving at a new place of self-realization is that in the same moment we reach this distant shore of new understanding do we also understand that some unseen part of us has always occupied this quietly perfect place... and that it has awaited our arrival there as does a loving parent their child coming in from play at the onset of night.
Achievements in and of themselves change little in us; they are little more than a merit badge that tarnishes in time. Seen aright, it's the suffering we endure for the sake of what we love that helps to transform and perfect our nature into something newer and truer. It is not so much what we acquire, as it is our willingness to pay the "cost" of it that actually enriches us.
Someone I loved dearly was murdered recently. I am able to see what seems like thousands of thoughts and have noticed when just one thought takes me away into the darkness. To come back to just noticing and watching these thoughts enables me to accept my feelings without allowing them to drown me. But what I would like to know is, does my soul feel a forever kind of loss of him? Or is the grie...
