Never forget that no real spiritual effort is ever made in vain, even when you're given to see -- as a result of your inner work -- some low estate into which you have fallen. At the same time, always remember: the same place into which the waters of a river empty themselves, their lowest abode is, in fact, one and the same as its original source... only in another order of time.
