Karma is our inability to see that the path that leads to any imagined pleasure is paved with pain.
Even if I am told what is true, it is not yet the truth. Even if I am shown what is true, it is not yet the truth. Only as I see what is true for myself does Revelation begin, and with it the work of resting from my labors for having glimpsed a peace that passes understanding.
When you no longer want to look at the world through the eyes of anyone else, you will at last know what it means to see.
Whatever storms you are given to face on your long journey back home, work to remember this truth... and be assured the day will dawn when you will know the unconditional freedom you seek: Your struggle is with yourself, and yourself only.
The fortunate soul who, seeing with only one eye -- even it, barely half-open -- is, in fact, a virtual king in any realm where all of its citizens are blind...
Giving yourself empty things to do can't fill the emptiness you feel inside, so... risk leaving that space empty; allow it to be filled with something you can't give yourself: freedom from the fear of feeling empty...
