Until we are fully present -- awake and attending to each moment as it enters our consciousness -- we dwell somewhere outside of what is being ceaselessly revealed. This means that to whatever extent we are absent from what is real, neither can our response (to it) be real; and so, it follows: if our wish is to consciously participate in Real Life -- take part in its endless atonement -- then our first action must be... to be real.
