Question:

Many times because I feel empty, I wonder if I'm broken beyond repair. It seems the more I intend to become aware of the self, the worse I feel or can't seem to apply in the moment what I know is right and true. Sometimes its like the closer to God I want to be, I begin thinking "you're only doing this to get what you want, not what Life wants." (From student correspondence)

Answer:

In short, all is well; but this doesn't mean it's "easy." A "broken" human being can never know, consciously, the emptiness of which you speak; such lost souls can never see what you are now starting to become conscious of within yourself. Persist. Our task along the Way is not to create what comes, only to be aware of what comes to us because of what we have been trying to create. The Divine handles the rest.
