Painful tension is nothing more than unconscious chronic resistance (to life). This means one's suffering isn't the evil spawn of some dark condition unfolding outside of oneself, but rather (it's) the unhappy effect of identifying with a deeply divided mind that believes the best way to deal with unwanted moments is... by not wanting them!
