All day long I am a little puppet moved by pain. But there's another part within me that can go beyond the puppet. If you don't start developing your soul you have nothing.

Life is busy using me up, but I can use what's been using me. I am not meant to go around thinking about myself and my disappointments, my self-loathing, comparisons etc.

My present relationship with pain is predicated on assumptions. Pain is my authority. I am not intended to live under that authority.

Story: A father whose daughter has been getting into a lot of car wrecks asks her, "who's been driving your car? Either you drive, or no one drives."

When we want to hide our fight, pain is our authority. I am intended to decide what I want to do with my life. I can remain present to the state. The state does not have to be my consciousness. What presently dominates me is my resistance to the condition. I must be a conscious witness to the pain in me. I can see the pain in the context I choose. Agree to see. If you do what's true, what is True will lend you its strength.
