In many ways we are in a particularly dark time with regards to the healing of our soul and its intended transfiguration through the living light (Christ). One of the chief difficulties, however, and this principle was made very evident in the parable Christ told about the sower of the seed, is that before an individual can grow up into the eternal goodness of God's life and his kingdom that awaits the willing soul, that individual must indeed be willing to recognize the need for God's life before his own. This of course is the most difficult aspect of the authentic religious life, because the "flesh" has absolutely no interest in anything other than the sensation of itself, and the pursuit of whatever it needs for that stimulation. All this is to say that the power of any teaching, of any spiritual physician -- no matter the extent of his or her direct relationship to the divine -- is only genuinely effective, transformative as is the individual's realization of their need for healing. This is why so much of the work I do points to the need for an individual to awaken and become conscious of where their own nature is not only set against itself, but constantly works to see that nothing of the celestial interferes with its purposes.
