Seeing our helplessness, realizing our actual interior state without falling into despair over this revelation, is the first (real) step out of an unconscious level of self and into a conscious relationship with another, Divine order of being whose strength is realized only in proportion to our humility before it.

Choose to remember that something higher has remembered you. In a moment of disturbance, such as when you are angry or anxious, discover what you are in proximity with by seeing how you don't want to be around your limitations, and then remember that it is Grace that is allowing you to see the parts of yourself that you don't want to see. Something higher has remembered you, or you wouldn't have been brought to this point. Agree to stand in the light which has stirred what you're unconscious to within yourself. The longer you agree to stand in the stirring and learn about the nature that says "this isn't good," the more you will see the nature that draws you into imagining what is good and then turns to imitation as a means to "know" the Holy Spirit. Nothing the mind imagines can bring you what you really want. You don't need to imagine what the Divine would do because it is already there.
