Our experience of life is 100% the reflection of what we understand about our relationship to it, which is why self-knowledge has always been the principle key to the doors of perception. Awareness of the Truth and the freedom it grants are one thing.

Real Life is neither what we call this life or (fear about) death... but is the simultaneous ground of both states and, as such, can be realized only in the timeless Now, only by that part of us that can be aware of this eternal Presence that is all possibilities at once.

In many ways our sleeping "self" is reincarnation itself, as the nature of thought is to always give birth to itself, even though it has no real life in and of itself. Understanding this truth about the limited way in which we know ourselves, i.e., only through thought, both reveals the "trap" we are in, as well as the way out of it.

This same realization also explains why the wise ones have always taught the truth that our future is now, and our past is our future -- even if we don't realize this truth. True living is dying; true dying is living; only the undivided one is free of the fear over what may or may not come. Such a person never worries over what lies ahead because his or her peace of mind is one and the same as the present moment.

Work persistently to be present, and what you will see "there" will teach you what can't be taught.
