Story: A soon-to-be great archeologist sensed that there had been a Great civilization on the Earth at one time. He went into a cavern to work on a wall that had profound archeological possibilities. The wall collapses and he goes on to find the map to Real Civilization. He needed to look "behind" the wall that he thought held the answers. Just as the wall collapsed before the archeologist, so must our plans and images come to an end for us to find the Truth.
Second Story: A young girl is dreaming when thunder and lightning awaken her. Her grandfather tells the shaken girl, "I've never sat through a storm that didn't pass."
We must learn to "Sit through the storm" and find out what lies within it for us.
The forces that produce the very fabric of our consciousness are convergences that we have, unfortunately, named.
We try to avoid the storm, which we will never outrun; it needs to go through us instead.
The "eye of the hurricane" is like the "I of the self."
What we call the storm is there to teach us its purposes and that is to understand the "I" of the storm.
All things, including storms, serve Real Life.
We need to understand that a sunny day is the same as dark day. Each has a gift from God within it.
