Let the Light Be Your Answer to the Ache of Loneliness

One friend asks another "What's wrong?" "I'm a little bit afraid. I am running out of places to look for my happiness." I am running out of self's in me that can believe in these sensations. Without relationship we are nothing, we degrade. There is no individual self apart from relationship. What is this impulse we have towards Love. The way we are now we are incapable of Relationship. Our principal concern at all time is me. We believe we are what we need to sustain ourselves. Relationship is about exchange but not the use of someone or something.

Our relationships are not to become dependent upon one another but part of a beautiful structure through which we are intended to awaken in us what is Love. Relationships produce for us conditions to see certain things about ourselves. A man would never know how cruel he is until he sees and hears how he speaks to his wife or children. What is awakened inside of us is the realization of what lives inside of us, cruelty, resentment and much more.

We want to know what love is! Consider another as it considers itself. We feel so separate from one another. What separates us is "Ideas". What destroys the world is the self that thinks the consideration of self is the same as real interaction. My ideas meet your ideas and then we jump on one another if they don't agree. All this isolates us. Isolation is not a natural condition of this life.

Ideas separate us. We are identified with something we are searching for to have this relationship, money, partner, home, spiritual teacher. We are really searching for something that will match the idea we have that will make us feel whole and complete. We can feel there (what I need or where I want to go) but there isn't real except in our mind. When things fall apart, we fall apart. Nothing we can think about can bring an end to this sense of loneliness. Every atom searches for what will complete it and make it a new form.

When we feel lonely, we eat, drink, watch TV, plan a trip or daydream. The original impulse is converted by flesh to stimulate itself and can only find something incomplete. Loneliness is really asking us to come to the end of what we have been answering it with.
The answer is always within the problem. It is not outside of it. Loneliness is a kind of gate we were born with for the purpose of bringing ourselves to the one relationship that will bring an end to our loneliness.

A King gave his daughter her own personal shopper until one day she realized she didn't need one because everything in the kingdom was hers already. God is the only answer to his question. What we need to be whole and happy lives inside of us. Let God answer your loneliness.
