The "fall" in the Garden of Eden was not for having received the knowledge of "good and evil," but rather that we -- soul consciousness -- fell into (and under) a level of being within which it was forgotten that -- save for the way thinking makes them appear -- no opposite exists apart from its other.

"Stay With the Need"

We have been brought up to believe that we have missed the purpose of life if we suffer, but what is beautiful in a human being grows out of conscious suffering. Every disturbance reveals an unknown need to move towards an unknown needed. They each reconcile the other. 

Pain and suffering are not punishments; they are needs revealed. Stay with the need. Don't make it personal. Living with the need is allowing something else to provide what is needed. To stay with the need is to ask and have it given.
