Eventually all waters will reach the sea. Through the heart runs a great river of life. Every creature is tied to energetic laws. We move through life because of what moves through us. But we don't live from where these forces are. What keeps me from knowing them? I get a feeling, then I'm unconsciously identified with the state. First, I identify the picture of the state and then name what I need to get rid of it (or hold on to it.) The more we identify, the more we want to control the image.
Story: A great king had two sons who were entitled to, but not guaranteed a magnificent inheritance. One day he told them "The time of your testing has come" and showed them an immense treasure room with a throne in the center. "To get there you must enter into the caves of time."
He handed them both candles and said that they must keep the candles lit. The candles represent full awareness and the eternal Light of Christ. I can't step toward what I want and remember what I need. Every thought a human being takes blows out the candle.
The older brother finally said, "I've had enough of this" and started to run around in the dark. He finally got so deep in the cave that he was lost forever.
We must begin to live from a faith seeded in us at the beginning of our existence.
The younger brother held on to his candle though at times it would get smaller and smaller, but he trusted his father. His attention stayed on the light (constant meditation) and eventually he saw that he was in the treasure room.
Contentment already exists and is passing through me, but I must be present to it. The river runs through you and brings you everything you want. I don't have to pursue one thing because it is all moving through me.
