Spiritual knowledge by itself is not enough. If we want to be truly successful human beings, then we are going to have to find some way to connect our spiritual lessons with every moment of our daily lives. We want the events that transpire around us to touch the whole of something that we were already working on within ourselves prior to meeting the event. It is only when we start taking our spiritual work with us into the moment that the moment begins to have real meaning. Apart from that the moment ceases to serve our higher possibilities.
Presently our lives are spent in tiny, isolated pockets of pleasure or pain. All of us presently live with the belief that we are the only ones who have complex lives -- difficult relationships, challenging conditions, busy schedules. It is true that we do live in physical bodies and we must take care of practical responsibilities, but living within us is a unimaginable potential which transcends the nature that lives only to serve this world. But mere intellectual ideas by themselves are not enough. We must be willing to diligently apply the lessons we have learned if our wish is to grow spiritually.
