Key Question
In the moment of any impression -- in particular a shocking one -- there is no one there to be for or against that revelation. It is pure. There is nothing outside of that moment, no separate self to measure what is revealed, let alone to resist it. And if true, then what is the nature of this false I that not only believes there is an alternate reality, but that -- on demand -- literally creates it?
Dreams Are of the Finite World
We are carried along in the stream of passing time by (our) dream that freedom from stress, strain, and struggle will be ours as soon as we reach their "promised land" of perfect security... as imagined awaits us just around the bend.
But, what we are yet to see, and must if we hope to escape our captivity in this world of seamless dreams, is the following: the shock of any painful experience is the same as being momentarily awakened to a truth we don't want to see, let alone realize: dreams are of the finite world -- and suffering is the inescapable conclusion of being identified with their illusion.
