In the moment of disparity between "what is" and the part of you that wants to remain as it has been, be aware that you feel a disturbance. See the nature that is dissatisfied with what is taking place because it does not fit its own image of the moment. Notice how this unhappy nature starts telling you what to do to distract you from feeling this disturbance. Rather than being present to what is revealed by the disturbance, it would rather distract you with coercion, blame, justification, thinking about other people and what they should be doing, pretense, feeling inadequate, and all kinds of other diversions. The moment that you feel a disturbance has come to show you what is not working and what is keeping you from being in relationship with another level of being. "As goes my attention so comes my experience." Make your own list of what no longer works. What are your most habitual distractions that take you away into thinking instead of being present to the disturbance? This will strengthen your capacity to see what is mechanically acting within you in your name.
