This essential tension (within all of creation and necessary for creation itself) is also the reason why some people want to be "first" in all things -- typical type "A" persons: spring loaded! Always on the way to something, somewhere, to get "it" done, you know the drill. But the caveat here is that this natural energetic state is the actor; it's what's acting (in us) -- and not for the reason the mind supplies, as result of time, place, conditions and one's conditioning. A spring holds potential energy, power waiting to be used. Load the spring, and the power becomes "active." There is a measurable element of suspension, of lift, etc.
Now, if you can, see this whole idea as a spiritual principle: All this latent tension, i.e., power in a man that, once understood and consciously employed, can literally suspend him above himself, lift him into another world. And yet the very same force, misunderstood, misused... will wear him down, and eventually crush all possibilities.
